Dead Again is the seventh studio album by Type O Negative, released through SPV/Steamhammer. It consists of ten tracks. The cover photo is a portrayal of Grigori Rasputin, the Russian mystic and associate of Tsar Nicholas II, and likewise the lettering is faux-Cyrillic font. Reception to this album was quite positive among fans and critics and received the highest chart position for the band yet. The album was re-released in February 2008, with a DVD including live performances, interviews, and music videos. A separate 3LP vinyl set was also released, which includes a shirt and 12-page booklet. The song is often known as "Profit". The song "These Three Things" was released via the band's website on February 11, 2007. On the song "September Sun", after guitarist Kenny Hickey sings the line "Yet in the dark, still he screams your name", Peter Steele can be heard in the background, screaming the name "Elizabeth". Steele's ex-girlfriend Elizabeth also appeared in the After Dark video and DVD. After a long period of post production, the "September Sun" music video finally saw an online release on November 30, 2007. The Best Buy exclusive bonus disc includes the following live songs: "Everything Dies/My Girlfriend's Girlfriend" "Are You Afraid/Gravitational Constant" "Christian Woman" (labeled as 'Christian Women' on the case) "Love You To Death" "Black No. 1" The bonus tracks were taken from the Symphony for the Devil live DVD. "Christian Woman" contains the "Black Sabbath" intro. The media tray has the words "Сново Мертвый" (Dead Again) visible underneath along with Rasputin's autopsy information. The photograph on the back was taken in 1906, showing four young women of the Tsarist family, identified left to right as Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia Nikolaevna. The USA release of Dead Again is available with multiple retailer-exclusive extras, including a bonus live CD for Best Buy stores and a Type O Negative wristband for FYE stores.
