Biography van Lauren Harris

Lauren Harris (6th july 1984) is the oldest daughter of Iron Maiden leader/founding member Steve Harris. Lauren literally grew up on music and was constantly around the music industry. It was only natural that Lauren wanted to sing and hopefully one day make her own mark as an artist. Harris is a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the Oxford School of Drama and has appeared in numerous stage productions, highlighting with a London production as the role of Blanche Dubois in Streetcar Named Desire. Harris has appeared in the feature film Adrift in Soho Lauren had just started singing in London area pubs when legendary British producer-writer-artist Russ Ballard noticed her one night and asked to hire her to sing in the studio as the female voice for the new material he was writing. Not knowing at the time who he was, Lauren was just thrilled for the chance to sing in the studio and earn the money he was offering. Russ also had no idea that Lauren was Steve Harris’s daughter. The recording went off without a hitch and what turned out to be Lauren’s first time singing in the studio was a great success. This affirmation of her ability only cemented in Lauren’s mind that this was the life she would lead and the goals that she would aspire to. In March of 2005 Lauren started working with Monstro Visionary Entertainment and is currently recording her debut CD with Multi-Grammy nominated writer/producer Tom McWilliams. As the year grew on Lauren put together a live band and started gigging around Florida refining her stagecraft around recording sessions. In the fall of 2005, Lauren and her band returned to the U.K. and played a series of dates in the greater London area. As news of these dates started to circulate around the Internet, this awoke the massive Iron Maiden Fan base. And Lauren who was “flying under the radar” to this point was now big news. People overloaded the web site and with the addition of her very popular myspace page Lauren has received well over four million hits to date. The summer of 2006 saw Lauren and her band go on to tour in Europe playing the prestigious outdoor festival circuit including high profile appearances at the German Rock Im Ring and Rock Um Park shows as well as the UK and Dublin Download festivals. As Lauren and her band started blowing away the big crowds from the big stages… It was then decided Lauren would support IRON MAIDEN on there up Coming world tour… So, It was off to tour Japan and Europe. 2007 saw more growth for Lauren touring again with Maiden in such exotic places as Dubai and even Bangalore India (where Lauren made history as the first woman to front A rock band in concert)! Then continued touring with [artis]Within Tempation and The Answer then finishing out the summer playing some of the largest outdoor festivals in all Europe… Including a dazzling set at this years U.K. Download Festival From 2010, Harris toured with her new hard rock band, Six Hour Sundown, performing at venues in the UK as well as the European Graspop, Download, and Sonisphere festivals.
